23 year coma, awake the whole time from News

CNNHealth’s Mark Tutton provides us a detailed look into the life of Rom Houben, who spent 23 years of his life awake, laying lifeless in bed.  The most amazing fact in this story is the percentage of misdiagnosed coma cases, with CNN reporting that “A study carried out last year on 103 patients by Laureys and his colleagues at Liege’s Coma Science Group found that 41 percent of patients in a Minimally Conscious State (MCS) were misdiagnosed as being in the much more serious Vegetative State (VS).” Read the full story below.
