Virtual reality for mice from Random Bits

Now, I’m not sure if there’s any marketing potential for our friends over at Microsoft Game Studios, but let’s face it, this is cool.  While studying the brains of mice, scientists have created this floating trackball system for a mouse to run on.  It appears the images are displayed in a dome in front of the mouse in hopes he will run towards them.  The question is still out on whether this works, as it looks like the mouse is just trying to stay on top of the ball.
